    We raised a fantastic £82 in free books for our school during our Scholastic Book Fair.

  • Winter Veg Garden

    9th January 2015

    Our Year 6 pupils have their own garden that they tend to on a regular basis. They thoroughly enjoy looking after their garden and have grown some vegetables over the Winter months, they, please see photographs below.

     

    They have grown: Spring Onions, Watercress, Kale, Cabbage, Lettuce, Wild Rocket, Spinach, Leaf Beat 'Bulls Blood' and Chicory.

     

    The Year 6 children have ordered some gardening goodies from the Morrison's Let's Grow voucher scheme, which they are very excited about.

  • Netball

    6th January 2015

    Our Deputy Head Teacher Miss Robinson will be starting up a Netball after school club on Thursday 8th January from 3.20pm - 4.00pm (due to dark nights, the time will extend to 4.20pm after half term).

  • Fossil making

    18th November 2014

    Year 3 children investigated Fossils and made their own using shells and plasticine. They also made some chocolate rocks. Please take a look at our photographs below.

  • Manor Sports Festival

    14th November 2014

    Some of our Year 1 and 2 children took part in 8 mini athletic activities such as javlin and relay at the Manor Sports Festival on Thursday 13th November. They showed team work and brilliant sportsmanship!

  • Victorian Christmas Market

    13th November 2014

    Queen Elizabeth Academy will be holding their annual Victorian Christmas Market on Thursday 27th November. The market will be taking place on the academy site and will start at 5.30pm.

    There will be stalls full of Christmas goodies for all the family and an array of laterns provided by Farmilo, Crescent and Flying High Academy will bring the venue to life!

    There will be performances from Pleasley Colliery Brass Band and the Queen Elizabeth's Family of Schools.

  • Free SEAL Course for Parents

    13th November 2014

    We will be running a SEAL course for parents about 'How to Manage Children's Behaviour'. The course will be free of charge and will run for 7 weeks, starting on Wednesday 19th November from 1.00pm - 3.20pm in the Community Building.

    Visit www.yourschoolgames.com and click on our school and go to 'find a school' then you will need to type in our school post code of NG19 6TF to locate our school. You will then be able to see what games are taking place in our local area.

  • Parents' Evening!

    22nd October 2014

    Parents' Evening will be taking place on Tuesday 4th November and Thursday 6th November 2014. Please complete the reply slip and return to your child's class teacher so that they can find you a time close to your preference. All consultations will take place in the Main School Hall and will last for 10 minutes.

     

    There will be a boof fair set up in the main reception area, were parents can purchase/order books, there will also be an opportunity to discuss school meals with our catering staff and sample the fo

  • CHANGE 4 LIFE!

    We are delighted to announce that we have teamed up with change4life (as seen on TV) and as a result of this we are able to put on two after school clubs, on a Monday for Years 3, 4 and 5 and a Thursday for Years 1 and 2.

    We have been provided with a fantastic kit bag of new equipment and game ideas. The change4life program will also be run along side a fun fit club which many of the children are already familiar with and enjoy. This is an after school club that is non contact, high eneergy and extremely enj

  • Bonfire Night Menu

    8th October 2014

    Our kitchen staff will be preparing a special bonfire night menu on Wednesday 5th November 2014.

    The children will have the following meal:

    Hot-dogs with onions and tomato ketchup with wedges, mushy peas and sweetcorn

    OR

    Jacket potato with cheese and beans

     

    They will then be able to choose from the following deserts:

     Flapjack

      OR

    Ice Cream

    Please complete and return the reply slip by Friday 17th October 2014 so that our kitchen staff can order the right amount of food for the day. Children entitled to free school

  • STRIKE ACTION CANCELLED!

    7th October 2014

    Wainwright Primary Academy will no longer be closed on Tuesday 14th October as the strike action has been cancelled. School will be open as normal for pupils.

  • Gardening Club

    Our Year 6 teacher Mrs Robinson is now running a Gardening Club for Year 6 pupils. Here are some photographs of them planting bulbs/seeds, which they will then continue to look after.

     

  • Money Raised at our MacMillan Coffee Morning

    We raised a total of £124.00 for MacMillan Cancer Support on Friday 26th September. We would like to thank everyone who attended our Coffee Morning and donated, your help was greatly appreciated.

  • MacMillan Coffee Morning

    22nd September 2014

    We are holding a MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September from 9.00 am - 10.15 pm in the Upper School Hall. Parents will be able to buy a cup of tea or coffee and we will be selling cakes and buns. All money raised will go to MacMillan Cancer Support.

     

    Come along, have a chat, a drink and a cake - all while raising money for this worthwhile charity.

  • Year 2 Allotment visit

    On Friday 12th September the Year 2 children went on a walk to a local allotment to begin their topic of 'How does your garden grow?'

     

    They found lots of different vegetables, the children brought a variety of them back to school as they are going to be conducting a growing Science investigation.

  • Sure Start Fitness Club

    Sure start have invited our Reception children to attend an after school club starting on Thursday 18th September. The club will run from 3.30pm - 4.15pm for a 4 week period, it will be held in the Lower School Hall.

  • Notts Schools Athletic Cross Country League

    9th September 2014

    We have been invited to attend the Nottinghamshire Schools Athletic Association Cross Country League over three dates. Our Year 5 & 6 children have been invited to enter, the teams will be mixed boys & mixed girls.

     

    The dates are as follows:

    • Saturday 4th October
    • Saturday 15th November
    • Saturday 13th December

  • After School Clubs

    8th September 2014

    We are now running several after school clubs, these include: Cricket, Football & Running.

     

    Mr Blackwell will be running the Football club every Monday from 3.30pm - 4.30pm and the Cricket club every Tuesday from 3.30pm - 4.30pm. Our new Deputy Head Teacher will be leading the Running club every Tuesday from 3.20pm - 4.20pm. These clubs are only available for Year 5 & 6 pupils but we are hoping to offer it out to more year groups in the future.
