  • MacMillan Coffee Morning

    22nd September 2014

    We are holding a MacMillan Coffee Morning on Friday 26th September from 9.00 am - 10.15 pm in the Upper School Hall. Parents will be able to buy a cup of tea or coffee and we will be selling cakes and buns. All money raised will go to MacMillan Cancer Support.


    Come along, have a chat, a drink and a cake - all while raising money for this worthwhile charity.

  • Year 2 Allotment visit

    15th September 2014

    On Friday 12th September the Year 2 children went on a walk to a local allotment to begin their topic of 'How does your garden grow?'


    They found lots of different vegetables, the children brought a variety of them back to school as they are going to be conducting a growing Science investigation.

  • Sure Start Fitness Club

    Sure start have invited our Reception children to attend an after school club starting on Thursday 18th September. The club will run from 3.30pm - 4.15pm for a 4 week period, it will be held in the Lower School Hall.

  • Notts Schools Athletic Cross Country League

    9th September 2014

    We have been invited to attend the Nottinghamshire Schools Athletic Association Cross Country League over three dates. Our Year 5 & 6 children have been invited to enter, the teams will be mixed boys & mixed girls.


    The dates are as follows:

    • Saturday 4th October
    • Saturday 15th November
    • Saturday 13th December

  • After School Clubs

    8th September 2014

    We are now running several after school clubs, these include: Cricket, Football & Running.


    Mr Blackwell will be running the Football club every Monday from 3.30pm - 4.30pm and the Cricket club every Tuesday from 3.30pm - 4.30pm. Our new Deputy Head Teacher will be leading the Running club every Tuesday from 3.20pm - 4.20pm. These clubs are only available for Year 5 & 6 pupils but we are hoping to offer it out to more year groups in the future.

    We would like to welcome everyone back after the Summer Holidays, we hope you've all had a great time during the 6 weeks holidays and we look forward to hearing all about the exciting things you've been doing.


    We would also like to welcome new staff members to our team: Miss Pippa Robinson - Deputy Head Teacher, Mrs Wendy Tamdi - Assistant Principal, & new teachers Mr Kyle Prometheus, Mrs Maura Cox, Miss Carah Westmoreland & Mr Darrell Hynd.

  • Book Fair

    19th June 2014

    The book fair is back! We will be holding a Scholastic Book Fair after school for 1 week, starting from Wednesday 25th June - Tuesday 1st July in the school hall.


    The good news is that due to our success last time, the books will now be half price! This will be our last book fair until March 2015 so please support us as much as you can.


    Every book you buy helps us to earn free books forour school. We were able to purchase new books for every Year Group from the proceeds we earned at the last book fair.



  • Family SEAL

    17th June 2014

    Family SEAL sessions will take place on Wednesday's from 1.00pm - 3.20pm starting on 25th June for 4 weeks, in the Community Building.


    Learn with your children to help them to ....

    • be the best that they can be
  • KS2 Disco

    13th June 2014

    Year 6 are hosting a school disco for Key Stage 2 pupils to help raise money for School Fund. The disco will start at 3.30pm and finish at 4.45pm on Thursday 26th June. The theme of the disco is the World Cup, we would like pupils to wear clothes that represent a country competing in the World Cup ie: colours of the flag.


    There will be several games during the disco including: Guess the Teacher, Lucky Dip and Hoopla.


    Tickets will cost £1.00 each and pupils will need to return their permission slip from pare

  • Summer Festival 2014

    Queen Elizabeth Academy are welcoming and inviting the Mansfield Community to a fantastic feel good afternoon on Friday 11th July from 2.00pm - 8.00pm. Tickets on sale now at £1.50 each from Queen Elizabeth Reception or by calling 01623 623559. Bookings must be made by 20th June 2014.

  • Year 6 visit Mill Base after SATs

    23rd May 2014

    Our Year 6 pupils were treated to a day at Mill Base Environmental Centre on 21st May, they took part in team building activities and as the weather was nice, they took part in some water based activities. They had a great, fun filled day after a hard week of SATs.

  • Year 4 visit Brackenhurst

    Our Year 4 pupils had the opportunity to visit Brackenhurst Environmental Centre on 21st May. They learnt about different plants and took part in orienterring and art in the environment.

  • Messy Church

    St Mary's Church, Ladybrook, will be hosting 'Messy Church' sessions at 3.30pm on the following 3 dates:

    These sessions are free of charge and there will be various activities available ie: crafts, games, songs and stories. There will also be refreshments available.

    Everyone is welcome, children must be accompanied by an adult.

  • School Crossing Patrol Wanted!

    We have been informed by the County Council Road Safety Department that the person they were hoping to appoint as a Crossing Patrol was not suitable and that the Crossing Patrol for Ladybrook Lane has been taken ill. We wish her a speedy recovery. Therefore we currently have no Crossing Patrol on the Ladybrook Lane site or Harrop White Road site, in the meantime whilst there is no patrol, please ensure that your child is accompanied to and from school by someone responsible.

  • Bailey from Dogs Trust visited Year 1

    Year 1 pupils had a visit from Bailey the dog & his carer Anthea from The Dogs Trust. Anthea taught the children how to care for a dog.


    We always like it when he visits us at school, he always gets lots of attention from the children.

  • Yorkshire Wildlife Park

    Year 1 pupils visited Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Tuesday 29th April, as part of their Science topic about Caring for Living Things.

  • Memorial Bench

    7th April 2014

    Many of you contributed towards a bench in memory of Sally Mulliss. She worked at our school as a Midday Supervisor, until she sadly lost her long battle with illness. The bench is located in our Friendship Garden, if you would like to visit the garden, it is accessible at the beginning & end of the school day. A group of Year 4 pupils have offered to be 'gardeners' & look after the garden.
