Statement re: Mrs Hazlehurst

26th January 2018

Mrs Hazlehurst supporting pupilsDear parents/ carers,

You will be aware that Mrs Hazlehurst has been absent from the academy due to ill health. She has now decided that she is unable to return to Wainwright Primary Academy and would like to share the following with you:

"It is with a heavy heart that I wish to share the news that I will be leaving Wainwright Primary Academy. You will be aware that I have been off work due to ill health and for personal reasons I have made the difficult decision to step down from my role as Academy Director.

I have had just over two years at Wainwright Primary and it has been such an amazing journey. I am so proud of what has been achieved and I will miss your amazing children who make each day at Wainwright so special.

I will be coming into the academy on 30th January 2018 at 08.30am to say a last goodbye.

I thank you for your support during my time at Wainwright and I will always cherish the happy memories I have made and I will always hold a place in my heart for such a wonderful academy community.

Mrs Hazlehurst"

For the remainder of this term and for the summer term, Mrs Spacey and Mrs Gledhill will be acting principals and will work together on a job share basis to ensure the academy continues to progress under my guidance. Mrs Spacey has previously been headteacher of other primary schools and has been working in the academy since September as Special Needs Leader, so knows the academy, staff and pupils well. Mrs Spacey should be your first port of call if you need to speak with the principal, however, your enquiries will be passed to Mrs Gledhill when Mrs Spacey is off site or not available.

We are confident that this arrangement will support the senior leadership team in working together with the staff and governors on our continued journey of improvement.

I would like to thank Mrs Hazlehurst for her commitment and contribution to Wainwright Primary Academy and wish her the very best for a speedy recovery and for the future.

Mrs Catherine Thornton
Executive Principal
