Changes at Wainwright Primary Academy

20th June 2016

Parents/Carers, I hope that you and your children have had a positive and enjoyable year at Wainwright Academy and that you can see that over the last year the school has achieved a number of key milestones. These include the results of the recent Ofsted inspection and the move to a fantastic new building, both of which would not have been possible without the hard work and commitment of both our pupils and our staff.

As part of the Government's Academy Agenda and the increased focus on academy localisation, we have been advised by the Regional Schools Commissioner that we are to join the Diverse Learning Academies Partnership (DALP) from September 2016.

As part of these changes, we will have a new Executive Principal in Miss Louise Davidson from Tuxford Primary Academy. Miss Davidson will continue to be supported by our current Head of Academy, Mrs Tamara Hazlehurst. On behalf of the Governors and the rest of the school I would like to extend a warm welcome to Miss Davidson and we look forward to working with her to build on our recent success.

At the same time I would also like to take this opportunity to thank our outgoing Executive Principal Ms Patricia Gavins who has been an inspiration to us all and to Miss Pippa Robinson who has decided to leave us for a new role as Head of Academy at a school in Doncaster. They both will be greatly missed by everyone at the school and we truly thank them for their hard work and professionalism.

We would like to wish you all an enjoyable summer period and would like to thank you for your continued support in choosing Wainwright Academy for your child’s education.
